Greetings and welcome to the official website of the Notable North Atlantic Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The North Atlantic region is the birthplace of Alpha Kappa Alpha and home to 140 graduate and undergraduate chapters in Massachusetts, Eastern New York, Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, Maryland, DC, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. During the next four years, we will work to implement the exciting Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service international program under the leadership of our International President Glenda Baskin Glover, which includes five target programs: Target 1: HBCU for Life: A Call to Action Target 2: Women’s Healthcare and Wellness Target 3: Building Your Economic Legacy Target 4: The Arts! Target 5: Global Impact Through our Signature Program #CAP SM , which stands for College Admissions Process, we will support students' efforts to enter college. And we will continue to leverage our Community Impact Days to engage in activities that will benefit the community and continue our commitment to lifelong service. As North Atlantic Regional Director, I am committed to leading with a high note by: Fostering harmonious sisterly relationships that are authentic, uplifting, and supportive. Orchestrating programs that make a significant impact on the communities we serve. Serving with integrity. I listen. I hear you. I value your voice. We are currently working to update our website with the information you need as we work together to take our region to new heights, including the Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service international program , our 2018 - 2020 regional leadership team, upcoming conference schedule and more. So please stay tuned! North Atlantic Regional Director Idell S. Pugh, the 26th North Atlantic Regional Director, passed away on Founders’ Day January 15, 2020. Ms. Pugh served as Regional Director from 1986-1990 and was also the 29th President of Epsilon Omega Chapter in 1977. She was 95 years old and is survived by her son.
